For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

Community Involvement Ministry

This ministry is an outreach to our local community providing a food bank and Christmas gifts to school age children of families involved.  Participants must complete an application and, once accepted, follow the guidelines of the program.  Interested individuals can call the church office for more information. They will then be contacted by a deacon.

Church members are actively involved in this ministry by donating food.  “Scouting for Food”, a Boy Scout initiative, supplies much of our staple canned goods, pasta and rice.  Specific needs are listed in the bulletin and generally include toiletries, paper products and cleaning products.  The Lions Club supplies hams and turkeys for holidays.

In early December, The Giving Tree erected in the Narthex is decorated with gift ideas solicited from the families served by the food bank.  Church members purchase gifts which are then handed out on Food Sunday before Christmas.

Mini Parish Outreach

This important communication tool is a basic phone chain whereby information can be quickly sent to all congregation members.  It is especially useful in the event of illness or death of a church member. The mini parish is overseen by the Deacons who have captains in charge of each parish. The captains stay up to date with any joys, needs and concerns of their parish members. They also make sure the Deacons and pastor receive pertinent information.
