Vadaketh Develpment Centre,
Miraj,  Maharastra,  India

North Sewickley Presbyterian Church has been in partnership since 1991 with Dr. V.C. George as he provides education and support to children and adults with disabilities. A school for handicapped children, built with donations from several Presbyterian churches and individuals in the USA, was dedicated in 2008. A small center for Adults With Disabilities is being operated on the personal property of Dr. V.C. and Irene George.

In addition to providing these direct services, Dr. George has been able to help at least two other village schools begin to serve children with disabilities.  He is a voice for these children at the national level in India and is influencing the priorities and services India offers persons with disabilities.

Dave Householder acts as the USA contact for Vadaketh and maintains accounts for donations and payments to the Vadaketh Centre.

Dr. George provided walkers to two boys sat on

the floor all day long.  Like typical boys,

they even learned to run using the walkers.

One boys legs have developed enough and is

now able to walk unassisted.

Children welcome guests to the Annual Gathering on Decemer 16, 2011.  Dr. George (in white in photo below) shared the Christmas message during the program.
